- Systemic chronic autoimmune spondyloarthropathy
- Primarily affect axial spine
- HLA-B27 histocompatibility complex positive (90%)
- Entheses inflammation leads to bony erosion, surrounding soft-tissue ossification, and eventually joint ankylosis
- Presents with Bilateral sacroiliitis and Progressive spinal kyphotic deformity
- Lumbosacral pain and stiffnessworse in morning
- Shortness of breath caused by costovertebral joint involvement, leading to reduced chest expansion
- X ray shows Bamboo spine appearance
- TNF-alpha-blocking agents such as infliximab, etanercept, adalimumab are mainstay of management
- Large-Joint Arthritis require replacement
